Carregfelen Manor House
Sleeps 11 | 7 Bedrooms & 4 Bathrooms | Dog Friendly
Carregfelen is the jewel of the Wern Estate — a 14th-century manor house sleeping up to eleven guests, extended in the 1920s by the owner’s uncle Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect behind Portmeirion. Step inside and you’ll find magnificently furnished rooms with antique furniture, historic family pictures, a dining room with an oak refectory table, and a cosy sitting room with an inglenook fireplace. Seven bedrooms are spread across three floors, each with their own character — twisting corridors, beamed ceilings, and captivating views of Moel y Gest. Outside, extensive gardens include sloping lawns, a wildflower meadow, an orchard, and a sun-trapped terrace perfectly positioned for long summer evenings. As Tatler wrote: “To see this house on a June evening is enchanting: roses running wild, candles blazing and, of course, those mesmerising views.” Just 1.5 miles from Black Rock Sands and Criccieth, and within easy reach of Snowdonia.

We had a really great weekend at Carregfelen Manor House and would highly recommend. The house is in a beautiful spot and really unique inside and out. The team was incredibly responsive and helpful all weekend. Thanks for a great stay!
Simply the most perfect location and venue for a large get together. The property is extensive, very private and in the most beautiful grounds, with gorgeous views in every direction. The house is very versatile, effectively over 3 'sections' offering the potential to come together in the incredible dining and living areas, whilst providing separate, private living spaces. The hosts are really exceptional. The house is cleaned to a very high standard and could not be better equipped. There was not a single thing we needed that wasn't available. I would not hesitate to highly recommend.
Our big family party had the most wonderful week at Carregfelen. Utterly beautiful setting, terrace and estate, fascinating house full of beautiful things and surrounded by all the magic of Eryri and the coast for climbing, swimming and surfing. Recommend heartily!
