Carregfelen Manor House

Sleeps 11 | 7 Bedrooms & 4 Bathrooms | Dog Friendly

Carregfelen is the jewel of the Wern Estate — a 14th-century manor house sleeping up to eleven guests, extended in the 1920s by the owner’s uncle Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect behind Portmeirion. Step inside and you’ll find magnificently furnished rooms with antique furniture, historic family pictures, a dining room with an oak refectory table, and a cosy sitting room with an inglenook fireplace. Seven bedrooms are spread across three floors, each with their own character — twisting corridors, beamed ceilings, and captivating views of Moel y Gest. Outside, extensive gardens include sloping lawns, a wildflower meadow, an orchard, and a sun-trapped terrace perfectly positioned for long summer evenings. As Tatler wrote: “To see this house on a June evening is enchanting: roses running wild, candles blazing and, of course, those mesmerising views.” Just 1.5 miles from Black Rock Sands and Criccieth, and within easy reach of Snowdonia.
