Welcome to Pont Faen
Access to the cottage is via a private lane, but please note that it is not suitable for very low-slung cars. Nestled within the private Wern Estate, the cottage offers a tranquil retreat where you are welcome to explore the grounds, as long as you close any gates behind you. There is a lake to the rear and a small stream nearby, so please ensure that young children are supervised at all times. The cottage itself is exceptionally comfortable, combining a mix of old and new furnishings. The conservatory is perfect for indoor dining with lovely views across the gardens.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a built-in oven, ceramic hob, full-size fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, and more. A washer and dryer are also available for your convenience. We are happy to accept one well-behaved dog, but please ensure that they are kept out of the bedrooms and off the furniture. The garden is walled and gated on one side only.
The property is a single-story bungalow, ensuring easy access throughout.
While the postal address is listed below, please follow our directions for the last few miles to avoid ending up in one of Mr. Jones' (the farmer) fields, as Sat Nav may not be reliable in this area.

Directions
To Pont Faen from the North
From M6 take M56 to Chester and North Wales
From M56 take the A55 to Conway and Bangor
Take A487 to Caernarfon. Drive through Caernarfon and follow A487 to Porthmadog After the village of Penmorfa (approximately 1 mile) at the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A498 – signed Criccieth and Pwllheli.
After just over a mile you will see “30” signs which bring you into the little hamlet of Pentrefelin (see the Old Post Office on your right). Continue for approximately 100 yds and you will see a little turning to the right (with a bench and post box). Turn up this lane (ignore the unsuitable for vehicles notice). You will pass Tyn Llech on your right. Drive through the gate and past the entrance to Y Boncyn for another 200 yds – please drive slowly as the road doesn’t have tarmac and needs treating gently. You will see the Pont Faen to your right. Drive through the gate to park. The luggage trolley will be waiting for you.
To Pont Faen from the South
M6-M54-A5. After Nescliffe, take a left to Knockin on the B4396 to llynclys and Llangedwyn. Then Penybontfawr B4391to Llangynog and Bala
From Bala take the A4212 to Transfynydd and then the A470 to Porthmadog.
At the roundabout in Porthmadog, take the A497 to Criccieth. Continue as above.

We are pleased to advise that we have an EV charging station on the Wern Estate. If you are coming with an electric car then please let Michelle know so that she can show you where the station is. Our app will record when and how much electricity you have used. We will then charge your card on departure. We are not looking to make money on this, it is a service that we are offering guests and solely want to cover costs.

For your stay, we’ve provided the following essentials:
Wood, kindling, firelighters (we provide one bag, and if you need more your contact Michelle to organise purchasing additional logs/kindling)
Body wash and hand wash.
Fresh towels provided all year round and beach towels provided from May to late September (please ask if you would like this during winter months)
BBQ and charcoal provided from May to late September (please ask if you would like this during winter months)
Tea, ground coffee, and sugar (please bring more coffee pods for the Nespresso Coffee Machine if you would like to use it)
Salt, pepper, oil, foil and kitchen roll
Dish soap as well as a selection of washing pods and dishwasher tablets to get you started for your stay
A well-equipped kitchen
Welcome pack with bread, butter, jan, milk, shortbread and Welsh cakes

The house is of course fully heated (with underfloor heating in the sitting room and conservatory) and also has a log burner.

Eating outside on the patio is a treat during spring and summer. Of course, we are happy for you to use the BBQ, but please ensure that the BBQ is cleaned ready for the next guests before you leave.

We are happy to provide a travel cot – although we ask guests to bring their own bedding. If you would like a travel cot and/or highchair, then please ask in advance.

Beds are made up for arrival with pure down duvets and fine thread Egyptian cotton bedding. We are happy to provide synthetic duvets on request. There will be fluffy house towels as well as beach towels during the summer months. There will be complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms.

If you are using our lovely eco friendly wood fired hot tub, the disclaimer needs to be signed before use. The disclaimer can be found in your welcome email.

Yes, dogs are allowed, but please ensure they are do not go on any soft furnishings and are always kept on leads whilst on walks. Please read our dog rules here.

The farmhouse is supplied by a septic tank, please ensure only loo paper goes down the loo as anything else will block our wonderful sustainable system.

Yes, we have a washing machine and a dryer. You will be supplied with clothes washing tablets.

Additional baskets of logs can be purchased for £12 each, please text Michelle on +44 7917 871981 and she will deliver to you.

Yes, we provide one beach towel per person. Any missing towels at the end of your stay will be charged at £20.

You can arrange supermarket deliveries, however they must be scheduled prior to your stay, and must be arranged for a delivery at 4:00 p.m. or later on the day of your arrival.
